How It Works
Choosing the right backpack size is about matching capacity to your actual needs. Too small and you'll stuff it to bursting; too large and you'll overpack. The goal is a fully-loaded pack under 20% of your body weight for comfortable multi-day carrying.
Capacity Guidelines
Day packs: 20-35L. Weekend trips: 35-50L. Week-long trips: 50-70L. Extended expeditions: 70-100L+. For checked luggage on flights, 60-80L is typical if you need to bring significant gear.
💡 TipTest any backpack with weight before buying. A properly fitted pack should sit on your hips, not your shoulders. Your shoulder straps should hug your chest without pulling.
